Health science and COVID-19 activities “We know students have lots of questions about coronavirus and COVID-19. To help them explore and answer these questions, our scientists have created new science and engineering activities that work well for remote learning and for families at home. These activities are designed to give teachers, students, and families ways to talk about and better understand the science behind the current pandemic, the value of social distancing, and how the body responds to viruses in general:” Science Buddies.org | |||
REACH | 9-12 | Health science | How Do Viruses React To Soap?: Make models of two types of viruses using aluminum foil, butter, and candy sprinkles and then test to see what happens when you put them in soapy water. (See how this activity went when one of our scientists did it at home with her kids!) |
