On Tuesday, May 27, the RGSD Board of Education approved a recommendation to implement an amended summer work schedule for 12-month employees.
Summer is a popular time for employees to take vacations, visit family and enjoy down time! With the warm days of summer, many organizations shift to "summer hours"- sometimes called Summer Fridays, half-day Fridays, or early-out Fridays - to give employees a shorter summertime work week.
What does this mean?
Beginning Monday, June 2, 2025, 12-month employees may opt to work an extra hour daily, Monday through Thursday. In turn, those employees may leave the office after working four hours on Friday.
This amended summer work schedule will end on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Who is eligible?
12-month employees (secretary II, III, and admin. assistants, all other administrators except for assistant principals, who are 11-month and food service directors at the building and maintenance/custodial). The summer work schedule is optional for 12-month employees.
Supervisors are responsible for monitoring the time of their direct reports.

Employees who have additional questions regarding the amended summer work schedule, please contact the Human Resources Department.
Parents, students and community members, please note that all RGSD schools and offices may have limited staffing and availability on Friday afternoons.
