RGHS Track Team

The Riverview Gardens High School track and field team is heading to the sectional meet after a series of standout performances at the district championships.

Several athletes secured top-four finishes to punch their tickets to the next round of competition, including strong showings in both individual and relay events.

Darrion M. led the way on the boys’ side with a third-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, clinching his spot at sectionals.

In the field events, Eriyon S. soared to second place in the triple jump, marking one of the team’s highest placements of the meet.

The girls' 4x200-meter relay team — made up of Jakaylah S., A’Nhya P., Krista C., and Jaleah L. — also advanced, earning their berth with a fast and coordinated performance on the track.

Pamela M. had a busy and successful meet, qualifying in three events. She took third in the 100-meter hurdles and triple jump, and added a fourth-place finish in the long jump.

Jaleah L. continued to show her sprinting strength with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash and a fourth-place finish in the 100 meters, securing her advancement in both events.

The sectional meet will be held on Saturday, May 24 at Columbia Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Mo. The RGHS athletes will compete for a spot at the state championships.
