Riverview Gardens School District launched its annual Freckle Math Challenge today, encouraging students across all grade levels to build mathematical skills through daily personalized practice.
The initiative utilizes Freckle Adaptive Math, an educational software program designed to adjust to each student's learning level. Teachers can use the platform during center time and small-group instruction to assign targeted standard practice and prerequisite skills, or allow students to work independently.
To encourage participation, each school in the district will recognize two students per month in the following categories:
Highest average grade-level growth: Awarded to the student demonstrating the greatest average growth in the adaptive program.
Highest accuracy: Awarded to the student achieving the highest overall accuracy rate during practice sessions.
The District is asking staff to incorporate the program into their regular classroom routines and urging families to support daily math practice at home throughout the school year.
Staff members with questions about the program may contact Kimberly Mott at 314-869-2505, ext. 20117, or by email at kmott@rgsd.k12.mo.us.
