Did you know that missing just one or two days of preschool or kindergarten every few weeks can make it harder for children to develop reading skills and to be prepared for first grade?

The Riverview Gardens School District schools and district administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Regular classes and normal district operations will resume on Tuesday, September 8.

Introducing The French Open Chess Space!

On August 24, WMS proudly held a dedication ceremony at the 8th-grade lunch to unveil its newest space for students: The French Open Chess Space!

Named in honor of SRO Dr. French, this space gives students a place to gather during lunchtime to think, compete and grow.

RGSD will host a Together for a Stronger Future Community Meeting on Wednesday, August 26 at 5:30 PM at Westview Middle School. We invite all parents, residents, students, staff members, community leaders and business owners to attend this meeting! We will hold important two-way conversations about district finances, local taxes, business development, strategic planning and more.

Thank you to all the students and parents who came out for the Meet the Teacher Night at Lewis and Clark Elementary School. Families toured the school, met their teachers and even got to say hi to the Principal, Jarita Williams. It was such a great way to kick off the year and get everyone excited for what's ahead.

RGSD Kicks Off the Year with a Powerful District Convocation!

This week, Riverview Gardens School District came together at the RGHS Gymnasium for an inspiring District Convocation to launch the new school year.

This year's theme, "The Climb to Full Accreditation: The Work, The Will, The Way," set the tone for a day full of pride, purpose and possibility.

RGSD's next Together for a Stronger Future community meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Westview Middle School. The meeting will take place from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Thank you to those in the RGSD community who showed up and participated in the virtual meeting on August 6 and the in-person meeting on July 23 at Meadows Elementary.

Make sure you come out and participate on Aug. 26!

The RGSD Board of Education recognized Marvin Crumer for Riverview Excellence at the Aug. 11 meeting. Crumer, the Parks and Recreation director for the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors, opened up the city's recreation center to Riverview Gardens High School's student-athletes after a water main break damaged the school's gym and workout facilities. Crumer and his team have also spearheaded toy drives, food drives and have provided important resources and opportunities to RGSD students.
