Daniel Jones, Ph.D., assistant principal at Riverview Gardens High School, was named the Assistant Principal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals (SASSP). As an award winner, Jones represents the entire St. Louis region.
Jones was surprised with the announcement of the award by SASSP President Jon Schultz, at a special reception on Thursday, April 9 in the Riverview Gardens High School library.
Jones was surprised at the reception, attended by colleagues and select RGHS scholars.
"Thank you, Dr. Jones, for your commitment to this district and the hard work that you’ve done and all you do for our students," stated Superintendent Tanya Patton, Ed.D.
“I’m honored to represent our district, our community and our high school,” Jones stated. “I come to work every day and it’s joyous to work with our amazing Riverview Gardens High School students.”
Jones was presented with his formal award at the SASSP awards banquet on April 30.
