Riverview Gardens School District will implement early dismissal protocols on Monday, April 27, due to severe weather forecasts, which include a Level 4 severe weather threat.
To help ensure the safety of all scholars and staff, Riverview Gardens will implement the following protocols and procedures related to dismissal:
All after-school activities, aftercare programs, athletic events and practices scheduled for Monday, April 27 will be canceled or rescheduled.
If there is a tornado warning or hail is present at dismissal time, students will be held inside the building until the severe weather has passed. This includes bus riders and walkers.
Students will only be released directly to their parents or guardians, in person.
If a storm occurs during the school day, all students and staff will follow emergency procedures as outlined in our safety protocols.
Bus transportation will operate on the early dismissal schedule.
First Student Transportation has been made aware of the early dismissal decision. Please be patient as we work to ensure that all students are transported home safely and orderly.
Riverview Gardens High School students in the dual enrollment program at St. Louis Community College - Florissant Valley, will be picked up at 12:30 P.M. and transported home.
We urge everyone to be cautious and prepared as the weather develops. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Please verify that your contact information is up-to-date in the Focus system to ensure you receive important communications from RGSD and your student’s school.
RGSD will communicate via email, text message, robocall, social media and rgsdmo.org regarding any additional changes due to the severe weather.
Employees may leave after all students have safely departed school buildings. District-level and non-school support staff will observe a 2:00 p.m. early dismissal time to ensure all school dismissals are fully supported.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our school community. If you have any questions, please contact your school office. Stay safe and healthy!
