Jacqueline Jackson, Sharon Titsworth and Melvin Williams are sworn into the RGSD Board of Education

The Riverview Gardens School District’s Board of Education completed its reorganization at the April 14 BOE meeting.

In the April 6 election, RGSD voters reelected Jacqueline Jackson and Sharon Titsworth to another term on the school board. Voters also welcomed a new director of the BOE.

Melvin Williams was also elected to serve on the RGSD Board of Education. A veteran educator and local business owner, Williams brings a wealth of classroom, administrative and leadership experience to the district’s governing body.

With newly elected and reelected members, the board implemented voting for leadership positions. Wanda Lane was elected to serve as the Board president. Niketia Coleman, Ed.D., was elected to serve as the vice president.

Veronica Morrow-Reel was elected to serve as the MSBA Delegate for the Board of Education. Coleman was also elected to serve as the MSBA Delegate Alternate.
