Dear RGSD Parents & Guardians,
The St. Louis region is expected to be impacted by inclement weather over the weekend. It is possible that the impending winter storm could impact in-person learning next week.
Please refer to the AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) Day information below. We are committed to ensuring students continue learning, even on days when they are not able to attend school in person due to extreme weather or other factors.
AMI Day Protocols & Expectations
During an AMI Day, in-person classes are canceled, but students will take part in independent learning activities with online teacher support.
Families of students in grades K–3 will help students check their district email for messages and instructions from teachers. Parents/guardians should also check their personal email for additional information.
Students in grades 4–12 will check their district email at the start of the AMI school day to review instructions from their teachers. Parents/guardians should also check their personal email for additional information.
All teachers are required to have Google Meet office hours from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm to provide scholars with support. This provides scholars the opportunity to enter the virtual classroom to ask and/or clarify instructions. Please ensure that your Google Classroom is set up and ready for office hours during AMI days
IMPORTANT FOR ATTENDANCE:
On AMI Days, scholars can be counted as present if they:
Log in to the Google Classroom for direct instruction
Log in during the office hours mentioned above to ask questions/verify instructions
Turn in completed assignments the following day or class period (RGHS)
All in-person events scheduled during AMI days will need to occur virtually or be rescheduled. Sporting events will be postponed.
Respectfully,
Dr. Tanya Patton
Superintendent
