Riverview Gardens School District announced the appointment of Tiffany Patton, Ed.D. as the new professional development coordinator. Patton will provide support for teachers in order to more effectively and consistently teach the district’s written math curriculum and support through clear communication and vertical articulation of K-12 learning goals. She will also coordinate staff development training for all district-certified staff.

The Riverview Gardens School District (RGSD) has three open seats for the Special Administrative Board of Education. The positions are for three-year terms and the newly elected members will join the Board at the April 11, 2023 Open Session board meeting. Three citizens have filed their candidacy for the three open positions on the Special Administrative Board of Education. As a result, RGSD is not required to hold an election on April 4, 2023.

The Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County has announced that candidate filing will open Tuesday, December 6, 2022 for the offices that will be on the ballot in the April 4, 2023 General Municipal election.

The results of the study will help to address any issues, including salaries, job duties, step placement, etc. Although employee participation is optional, staff input is crucial to achieving these goals.

Textbooks are vital tools within the realm of curricular and instructional support. The Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) department is reviewing Social Studies textbooks to adopt for the 2022-2023 academic year. The Social Studies instructional materials will be evaluated on the following criteria: layout, content, literacy, assessment and progress monitoring, technology and professional development.

Due to continued repairs related to the water main break that occurred at the school on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 8), Lemasters Elementary School will observe an AMI Virtual Learning Day, on Wednesday, Nov. 9. All classes will occur virtually with a start time of 10:00 a.m.
