Riverview Gardens School District is excited to announce the appointment of Williams Givens, Ed.S., as assistant principal of Westview Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.

Givens will join the Westview Middle School administration team and support incoming principal Cedric Gerald. He will support the effort to establish and maintains a safe, positive, academically focused environment that is welcoming to scholars, teachers, parents, and the community.

He will work to support teachers in maintaining instructional focus and improving student achievement. He will also supervise scholars, teachers, and auxiliary personnel and demonstrate instructional leadership through staff development and evaluation of certificated and support staff.

Givens currently serves as an instructor at Innovation High School in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. He serves as the teacher in charge and serves in an administrative capacity when the principal is out of the building. He also served as a teacher at Hoech Middle School.

This marks a return to RGSD for Givens, as he served as an instructor at Central Middle School in the 2018-2019 school year.

“We are excited to welcome William Givens back into the Ramily,” said Superintendent Joylynn Pruitt-Adams, Ed.D. “I am confident that he will be an excellent mentor and resource for our scholars in their educational growth.”

Givens earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Culver-Stockton College, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lindenwood University and an Educational Specialist in Administration from William Woods University.
