Coronavirus Update: April 9, 2020

Dear Riverview Gardens School District Community:

All district schools will remain closed through the end of this school year. However, student learning and support services will continue through the last day of school, May 27. Please review the "Assignments During Closure" tab on our website for more information. This decision was extremely difficult, but it is imperative that we take bold measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 and help save lives in our community.

This decision follows recommendations from local health departments and is in collaboration with government officials. We will continue to follow their guidance as we make decisions on end of year events.

While our school buildings are closed, our commitment to continue providing support for our students, parents, staff and community remains unwavering. Naturally, this decision will spark a variety of questions. Please know we are working to secure all the necessary answers and will share additional updates as soon as possible.

Coronavirus Update: April 5, 2020

Dear Riverview Gardens School District Community:

Effective immediately, our student meal and assignment packet distribution events have been suspended. As a district, we remain commited to serving the needs of our families; however, recent developments around the country related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have made the risk associated with continuing distribution events too great. As of today, we are not aware of any direct link to our district. We will continue to monitor the situation and make any necessary adjustments. The safety of our community is our top priority.

RGSD will continue to serve its families by sharing assignment and basic needs information through the following communication channels:

-Automated phone calls

-Facebook @Riverview Gardens School District

-Twitter @RGSDNews

-Instagram @riverviewgardensschools

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Coronavirus Update: March 23, 2020

Dear Riverview Gardens School District Community:

To help ensure the safety of our students and staff and do our part to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the district has extended the closure of all RGSD schools through April 22. All school activities, including athletic and extracurricular events, are cancelled during the closure.

Throughout the closure, we will work closely with the St. Louis County Department of Public Health to monitor the situation. If our status changes, all parents and staff will receive notification through RGSD communication channels.

Student Learning

District leaders have finalized a plan to ensure that learning continues during the closure. The plan calls for a combination of assignment packets and online activities. The plan can be found on our website under the “Assignments During Closure” tab. Assignment packets can be viewed, downloaded and printed. If you do not have internet access, please contact Charter at 1-844-488-8398 to secure free Spectrum internet service.

Staff Pay

All RGSD staff will be paid through the April 22 closure.

As we continue to navigate the reality of the coronavirus pandemic, please know that the safety of our community will be our top priority. This is an evolving situation that is forcing us all to adapt. You will receive additional updates from the district as soon as possible.
